Oknalux is locally owned and operated in South Australia, and has been continually engaging and supporting the local community since business inception. Oknalux recognises the importance, and proudly supports various local community events and organisations.
Hallet Cove Cricket Club (2015 – Present)
Oknalux has been the major sponsor for the Hallet Cove Cricket Club for a number of years. The club was established in 1910 and supports cricketers in both senior and junior divisions, in the local Happy Valley, Aberfoyle Park and surrounding communities.
The cricket club has senior teams competing in the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association. Also junior teams ranging from 5 to 16 year, in the South Central Junior Cricket Association.
The club prides itself on being a family friendly, community oriented cricket club, ensuring cricket is an enjoyable experience for all members.
Social Basketball (2015 – 2016), (2018)
In previous years, Oknalux was the primary sponsor of a mixed social basketball team. The team comprised of youth and adults, playing every Sunday night at the Pasadena Sports Centre. Originally the team had minimal players, but actively encouraged their friends to be involved. This small team quickly grew, and had enough members to form two teams.
Oknalux proudly supported the team over numerous seasons, and would happily support them again, if they choose to continue playing. Oknalux greatly appreciated the team’s friendly nature, and the continual inclusion of others, along with the attitude they portrayed on the court.
Later, one of the team member began coaching a high school basketball team, and requested sponsorship, which Oknalux was delighted to support also.
Adelaide 500 and Tasmania Super Sprint (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022)
If you have ever lived in Adelaide you definitely know about the Adelaide 500. It’s the annual supercars racing event held on the east end streets of the city. Oknalux has supported this event in various ways over the years along with sponsorship of some intermediate and up-and-coming drivers.
Road to Bethlehem (2015 – 2017)
Road to Bethlehem has been around for over 25 years interstate, where thousands of people walk through over 3 nights in December. The event started up in South Australia, in the Morphett Vale area, and ran for a few years, but unfortunately hasn’t continued. Large projects like this run by not-for-profit organisations require many volunteer hours and support from the local community to become a reality. We’re sad to see this event go but would love to support this fantastic event should it make a return to South Australia.
