How is the replacement & retrofit process?

Interested in what window frame replacement Sydney consists of? Here are the steps:

1. First, we measure the size of the window opening. This allows us to find a window frame that will fit your property.

2. You select your chosen material and style of your frames and we ship it to you.

3. Installation begins once you have received your windows.

4. To start, the existing frames must be removed. To do this, we will cut away and unscrew the old frame, pry the frame loose and hammer it out and remove any sealant and debris.

5. The frames are then prepared. We will position the sill into the frame, ensuring a tight fit. Using silicone caulk, we will also connect sill endcaps to the ends of the sill.

6. We will then put in place the new frames, leveling and securing them to the wall.

7. The window will now be glazed by snapping the glazing platforms into the frame’s edges. Then, the glass is placed into the frame before glazing beads are used to keep the panes secure.

8. Silicone sealant will be used around the frame and wall to seal and finish the windows.

The retrofitting process involves:

1. Assessing and taking measurements of the existing windows.

2. Frame preparation takes place to convert the single pane to double glazing:

– For timber windows, the single pane is removed and the grooves of the window are modified to allow for the double glazing.

– For aluminium frames, the existing angled beads are taken away to create the necessary space, with new flat beads put in place.

3. The custom-made double-glazed unit is fit into the prepared frames.

4. Silicone sealant is used to seal up the windows.
