How is the process of the replacement & retrofit?

The window frame replacement Adelaide process follows these steps:

First, the size of the wall opening in the building is measured. This allows Oknalux to source a window frame of the correct size.
Once you have chosen the materials and style of your frames, we will ship your windows to you.
Once you have received your window, installation can begin.
Installation starts with removal of the existing frame. To do this, Oknalux will unscrew the old frame, pry the frame loose and remove sealant and debris.
Then the frames are prepared. We will carefully position the sill into the frame, ensuring a tight fit. We will also connect sill endcaps to the ends of the sill using silicone caulk.
The new frame will then be put in place. The frame will be levelled and secured to the wall.
This is when the window will be glazed. The first thing to do is snap the glazing platforms into the frame’s edges. Then, the glass will be placed into the frame and glazing beads put in place to keep the panes secure.
The windows will then be sealed and finished by using silicone sealant around the frame and wall.

The retrofitting process involves:

Assessing existing windows and taking measurements.
Frame preparation takes place:
- For timber windows, the single pane is removed and the grooves of the window are made larger to accommodate the double glazing.
- For aluminium frames, the existing angled beads are removed to create the necessary space, replaced with new flat beads.
The custom-made double-glazed unit is fit into the prepared frames.
The window is sealed using silicone sealant.
